The Tennessee Red Cross is dedicated to helping victims of disasters and providing programs and services to help the community prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. One of the ways the organization helps communities prevent emergencies is through its Home Fire Campaign. This campaign helps save lives by installing free smoke alarms in homes that don't have them and educating people about home fire safety. In Tennessee alone, the Red Cross and its partners have installed more than 50,039 smoke alarms, created 17,907 evacuation plans, served more than 53,307 people in need and replaced more than 1,030 smoke alarm batteries.
